Oh, those poor people on the Glory!

The Carnival Glory is enroute back to Norfolk, and by the looks of it's current location, it won't be a pretty trip.  As most are already aware, Carnival has made the tough decision to cancel the Glory's next voyage that was supposed to leave Sunday, October 28th for a 5 day cruise to Nassau and Freeport.  In a message on Carnival's website, it is stated "Due to the storm, high winds and tidal flooding are expected in the Norfolk area. The Norfolk cruise terminal is positioned behind a major flood gate in the city which will likely close during the day tomorrow. When this happens, there will be no access to the cruise terminal."

In regards to the Carnival Miracle, it ended up skipping it's call in Grand Turk so it could race home ahead of the storm, resulting in a 7 day cruise rather than the scheduled 8 days. The ship also skipped a call Thursday in St. Thomas.  Currently, the Miracle is almost back to NY.  As the port of NY is expected to be closed on Monday, the Miracle is now embarking one day earlier to avoid cancelling another voyage.  It will be setting sail on October 28th, rather than the scheduled 29th.

For those interested in the itinerary changes, here's a copy of the revised itinerary for the now 9 day cruise:
